September 8, 2022 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review… All in all, Pinocchio ends up as a frustrating experience. It never feels like the characters had arcs, even if that's what the film wants you to believe.

The critic says: Of the many sins that Robert Zemeckis' Pinocchio commits, the hardest one to forgive is its complete inability to settle on a reason for existing. Its strongest moments come when recreating the film that inspired it, but its attempts to expand that source material lead it into some truly dire terrain

The story here is boring and the graphics are bad. Whole movie is garbage and I loved the original animated Disney film a lot better. You probably would want to avoid this one entirely and go back watching the original animated Disney film. Overall this is the worst adaptation of Pinocchio and very stupid.

Pinocchio 2022 review: Disney remake pales in comparison to original. The new adaptation is not whimsical or macabre enough to be a worthwhile remake – and isn't helped by some ugly CGI. A star rating of 2 out of 5. All of a sudden, Pinocchio is absolutely everywhere.

But even with Disney's dilution of Collodi's frankly horrifying tale, Pinocchio is still one of Disney's darkest films, especially the utterly uncomfortable storyline involving the Coachman (played by Luke Evans, who's giving off a weirdly Captain Jack Sparrow-like energy here).

Pinocchio is structured similarly to one of Aesop's Fables in that its has an overt thesis tied to its tale: Don't behave badly, or bad things will happen to you. It's not a particularly objectionable message, and has proven its ability to stand the test of time.

Pinocchio manifests the signs of a child with an oppositional defiant disorder. He makes, then breaks, one promise after another as he hangs out with a bunch of ruffians, seeks adventure, and pursues a life of ease believing that he can be fabulously successful without effort.
