Cade McNamara, a former Michigan quarterback, announced his transfer to Iowa on Thursday night via Twitter.

The early years. McNamara was born in the year 2000. Gary McNamara, his father, was a starting centre fielder for Fresno State in 1992 and 1993 and later worked as an assistant coach for the Nevada Wolf Pack baseball team. McNamara began his baseball career as an infielder and pitcher, thanks to his father's encouragement.

McNamara was a four-star recruit in the 2019 class with three years of eligibility remaining. He redshirted in 2019, has an exemption for the 2020 season, and may be granted a medical hardship in 2022.

His 15 passing touchdowns in 2021 ranked sixth among Big Ten quarterbacks. That season, McNamara finished fourth in the Big Ten in completion percentage (64.2%) and sixth in passer rating.
