Together, Dolly Parton and Olivia Newton-John perform “Jolene” in a stirring duet. The updated version of the song, which is currently available, serves as the late Newton-last John’s music video and recording. Newton-John passed away in August 2022 at the age of 73.

The duet was a part of a duet project that late singer Olivia Newton-John worked on alongside prominent musicians Dolly Parton, Mariah Carey, Michael McDonald, fellow Grease star John Travolta, Barry Gibb, Vanessa Amorosi, and Jon Secada. On May 5, the 17-track Just the Two of Us, which was recorded by the Grease star, will be released posthumously.

Newton-John is referred to by Parton as “one of my all-time favourites” in the video, which is viewable below. Newton-John performs the song’s first stanza in the recording studio. She then sings a duet with Parton.

The video was shared on social media by numerous accounts after it was released. “Just found out Olivia Newton-final John’s effort was a duet with Dolly Parton on ‘Jolene’ and it was just released,” one user, @WuTangKids, tweeted. “also certainly not sobbing.”

Billie Eilish is currently working on a new documentary on the renowned entertainer, according to other Newton-John sources.
