Finally, California’s newest billionaire has surfaced.
The winner of the greatest lottery jackpot in American history will be revealed in a “major announcement” scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m., according to California Lottery officials.
California Lottery tweeted, “We will reveal the lone winner of the record-breaking $2.04 billion #Powerball #jackpot from November on #ValentinesDay and show #CaliforniaEducation a whole lot of LOVE.”
According to the lottery’s announcement, the lucky winner is a single person, not a collection of participants in a pool.
Sadly, we won’t be able to meet them during the press conference on Tuesday.
The lottery said in a statement that the winner, whose name is public information under California law, “has respectfully denied the chance to undertake media interviews or appear publicly”authorities stated.

After 41 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner and a tense drawing-night wait brought on by technological difficulties, the Powerball jackpot hit the record-breaking figure in November.
Just east of Los Angeles in Altadena, at Joe’s Service Center, was where the winning ticket was purchased. According to lottery organisers, Joe Chahayed, the proprietor of the shop, has already been awarded a $1 million prize for selling the ticket.
Public schools and colleges are supported with money from the sale of California Lottery tickets, including millions from unclaimed winning tickets.
