Former Disney executive Dave Hollis, who was also Rachel Hollis’ ex-husband and the author of “Girl, Wash Your Face,” passed away at the age of 47.
Although the reason for his passing has not yet been established, a family member revealed to TODAY that he had just been hospitalised for heart-related health issues and passed away on February 11 at home in Austin, Texas.
Jackson, Sawyer, Ford, and Noah Hollis, who would have turned 48 on February 14, are Dave Hollis’ four surviving children. On Tuesday, February 14, his ex-wife wrote on Instagram to request prayers.
On February 5, Dave Hollis’ final Instagram post featured a picture of his daughter Noah fishing and attracted more than 300 condolences from friends and followers.

“My heart is utterly torn.I cherish you, friend. You have motivated countless others as they have watched you handle everything with such a huge heart. With you gone, there will be a huge hole. penned Jenna Kutcher.
“My heart is bleeding for your beautiful children,” another person continued. May they reflect on all the knowledge you shared with them and the rest of the world and uphold your loving legacy.

In order to pursue a career with his then-wife, a lifestyle blogger-turned-author of self-help books like “Girl, Wash Your Face” and “Girl, Stop Apologizing,” Dave Hollis departed Disney in 2018.
Ex-wife Rachel Hollis gained notoriety in 2015 after she posted a swimsuit selfie proudly displaying stretch scars from her pregnancies. The couple went on to produce a podcast and retreats for couples with inspiring themes, and they became well-known online. They established “The Hollis Company” jointly.
The couple, who married in 2004, was described as making encouragement “their full-time profession” by the New York Times in 2019. However, in 2020, they announced their divorce. In a then-deleted Instagram post, Dave Hollis stated, “Our marriage has been a victory in so many ways… and it has run its course.”
“Even though Rae and I still adore and deeply respect each other as friends, co-parents, and business partners, we have come to the conclusion that the best way to ensure the success of each of those in the future is to dissolve our marriage while the possibility of a beautiful, unconventional new family, friendship, and partnership still exists as a real and hope-filled option.”
Following their breakup, Dave Hollis created his own podcast, “Rise” Together” and “Get Out of Your Own Way: A Skeptic’s Guide to Growth and Fulfillment” as well as “Built Through Courage: Face Your Fears to Live the Life You Were Meant For.”
