Doja Cat

It’s difficult to miss Doja Cat on any red carpet, especially now that her take on beauty statements has reached new heights. And when it came time for her to walk the red carpet ahead of the 2023 Grammy Awards on February 5, she gave us a taste of iridescent plum lipstick and a choppy pixie cut, a safer look for the rapper.

But, before or during the ceremony, she ditched the pixie in favour of cascading blonde hair in a messy half-up style.

Hairstylist Jared Henderson shared a behind-the-scenes video of how he crimped her front-facing sections with zigzagged motions using the GHD Platinum + Styler Flat Iron, an Allure Hall of Famer.

Henderson first used the GHD Helios Professional Hair Dryer to blow-dry Doja’s wet hair. He then separated the hair into two sections, tied and scrunched up the top section into a messy bun, and straightened only the two strands hanging free in the front, according to a press release shared with Allure.

Henderson’s seamless transition from pixie wig to Targaryen lengths was made possible by the Ghostbond XL wig adhesive. Henderson tells Allure that he used Professional Hair Labs Ultra Safe Citrus Remover to remove the pixie wig before applying thin coats of Ghostbond XL to the scalp.

Doja kept her blonde lace wig for her Grammy performance.

in place for the duration of the awards.

Ernesto Casillas, her makeup artist, categorised her makeup for the second look as “industrial warm tones.” He created a smoky half-moon eye shadow and eyeliner blend using Charlotte Tilbury eye makeup products such as the Luxury Eye Shadow Palette, the Matte & Metallic Double-Ended Eyeliner in Green Lights, the Eyes To Mesmerize Cream Eye Shadow, and others.

Doja didn’t win any awards at the Grammys, but she did leave us speechless with two polar opposite hairstyles in a matter of hours.
